postheadericon Gibbs: SNL send-up of Rouse, Emanuel 'quite entertaining'

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Monday that a Saturday Night Live skit portraying former chief of staff Rahm Emanuel teaching new chief Pete Rouse about his blood-lust was "quite entertaining."

Gibbs joked that he couldn't speak to the accuracy of the skit, which featured Andy Samberg as Emanuel asking Rouse "are you ready to kill a man, Pete?"

After Emanuel left on Friday to pursue a mayoral bid in Chicago, which he kicked off in earnest on Monday, Rouse was appointed by President Obama to be the interim chief of staff.

Gibbs said that from his perspective, there was not a big change at the White House with the new chief, which is surprising given the stark contrast in styles the two men bring to the job.

"I thought it would feel or look a lot different," Gibbs said. "I don't know why I thought that. It didn't, honestly."

Gibbs said that "Pete's got some stylistic differences, obviously, from Rahm."
"But Pete was also was involved in every one of those meetings, every one of those discussions,"Gibbs said. "We continue to be very focused on many of the things that we had in front of us on Friday when Rahm was chief of staff and are continuing to do so with Pete."

Gibbs brought up the Saturday Night Live skit, saying he watched it Monday as the live showing was too late in the evening for him to stay up and watch.

"Wow, that was… I can't speak to its accuracy," Gibbs chuckled. "It was quite entertaining."
