Former Rep. Rob Simmons (R-Conn.), who lost to Linda McMahon in Connecticut's GOP Senate primary on Aug. 10, was back on Twitter on Monday ahead of her debate with Democratic Attorney General Richard Blumenthal.

"Getting ready for Senate debate tonight. Should be good," Simmons tweeted â€" his first blast since the day of the primary.

"At the Senate debate tonight, the question is, will Blumenthal "wrestle" or run? What say you?" Simmons continued.

McMahon had released a new ad on Monday slamming Blumenthal for misrepresenting his service record in Vietnam.

The video, which will air statewide, shows him discussing his time "in" Vietnam when he had really carried out his service domestically as a member of the Marine Reserves.

"He lied again and again … He lied about Vietnam. What else is he lying about?" a voice-over states. 

Polling from late September has Blumenthal up by five points.
