“Date night” has become a new, annual tradition on Capitol Hill.

President Obama will deliver his annual State of the Union to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday, and his audience will again show bipartisanship in their seat choices.

Sens. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) and Rob Portman (R-Ohio) were the latest to announce they have a date to sit together next week.

Shaheen tweeted on Friday: “Excited to announce my bipartisan seating partner for next week's State of the Union: @robportman.”

“[L]ooking forward to it,” Portman tweeted in reply.
