Rick Santorum, the former Pennsylvania senator and current Republican presidential candidate, compared President Obama's vision for the United States to that of King George III, king of Britain during the Revolutionary War.

"That's Barack Obama's view of America: the elites ruling on high, King George reincarnated," Santorum said Tuesday at a Florida campaign stop, according to Talking Points Memo.

Santorum also stressed that Republicans needed to elect a presidential nominee who represented a strong, conservative split from Obama.

"We need someone who represents a nice, stark, clear contrast," Santorum said.

Throughout the presidential race, Santorum has argued he is the only sufficiently conservative candidate, not only on fiscal issues but also on social ones as well. Santor! um has put forward policies like tripling the personal tax deduction Americans can claim for each child.
