Republicans on Monday sought to take full advantage of leaked tidbits from a new book that purportedly reveals the behind-the-scenes of the White House.

{mosads}In Jodi Kantor's new book The Obamas, which will be released Tuesday, the author reports that some White House staffers combined the words "Barack" and "awkward" to describe times when then-Sen. Obama "couldn't connect with people," creating the term "Barackward."

The Republican National Committee and the National Republican Congressional Committee jointly promoted the new account on Twitter:

"RT @barackward: A twitter account for all those awkward Obama moments. http://bit.ly/xgwD7Q #Barackwa! rd"

The new Twitter account had only tweeted twice so far on Monday and had 214 followers.
