postheadericon GOP candidates give Obama little credit for improving jobs numbers

News of the economy adding 200,000 jobs and unemployment dropping to 8.5 percent did little to soften Republican presidential candidates' criticism of President Obama Friday, with his would-be rivals continuing to criticize the president's economic record.

“I think our economy is overcoming what Barack Obama is pushing in its place," Rick Santorum told the Wall Street Journal while campaigning in New Hampshire Friday.

While Santorum described the jobs report as "good news," he said he continued to be to be troubled by the economy's overall health.
