Vice President Joe Biden said that voters "make judgements about our character" when asked whether claims from Newt Gingrich's ex-wife about the former Speaker requesting an open marriage during a radio interview that aired Monday.

At first, Biden said he had no comment. But the vice president went on to discuss the issue. Gingrich has denounced his ex-wife's claims as "false," and attacked the news media for questioning him on the subject.

"Look, this is quick sand," Biden said to KIIS-FM host Ryan Seacrest, according to Fox News."I think that Newt Gingrich is, as we all are, is gonna be judged by the voters in the primary in the totality of who he is and that includes everything. I mean, people make judgments about our character. They make judgments about our positions.
