My name is Dee-1 and I am a rapper, former middle school teacher, public speaker, activist, and whatever-else-I-need-to-be-at-the-time from New Orleans.

To put a box or a boundary on my plans is irrational. That's why my American dream is international. Think about that.

I absolutely do not want my generation to be known as a group of lazy, uninformed, immature men and women who selfishly live today with no regard for tomorrow. Unfortunately, there is a wide gap between what goes on in the government and what goes on in the streets where so many of my peers' lives are permanently based.

That’s why we’re hosting #BarackTalk tonight at 7:30 p.m. EST. #BarackTalk is an interactive event meant to take the political pulse of my generation, the ‘80s and ‘90s kids. It is our second annual State of the Union viewing party and discussion panel, and we will be broadcasting LIVE from BarackTalk.com. The League of Young Voters Education Fund is partnering with Allhiphop.com and some of the most innovative non-profit organizations in the country to bring this livestreaming broadcast to young adults nationwide.
