postheadericon Bachmann won't endorse Gingrich

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) hasn't decided who she plans to endorse for president but one person she won't be backing is Newt Gingrich.

"Through this exhaustive process of consideration, it was strikingly obvious that one candidate could not be less acceptable to be our party’s nominee," Bachmann said Thursday according to the South Carolina Greenville News. "He lacks the poise, experience and moral fiber to represent our principles and values. That candidate is Newt Gingrich."

Bachmann's comments come during a busy day for Gingrich. He received the endorsement of Rick Perry as Perry dropped out of the presidential race and also as his former wife said that Ging! rich had asked her for an "open marriage", which she, Marianne Gingrich, refused.

Bachmann's endorsement would be a helpful boost for any of the remaining presidential contenders seeking support from the Tea Party as the Minnesota congresswoman is a favorite in the movement.

Bachmann dropped out of the presidential race in early January.
