Donald Trump said he would not be running for president as a third party candidate in a statement Monday to Newsmax, the conservative news outlet which asked the reality television host to moderate their upcoming Republican debate, just hours after saying he would "certainly think" about an outside bid.

"Let me be clear: I do not want to run as a third party candidate," Trump said. "My priority, my number one priority, is to defeat Barack Obama in 2012. I want to support and endorse the Republican candidate for president."

Trump said on the Today Show Monday morning that he would run if he was unhappy with the Republican field.
