postheadericon GOP senators make good on Army-Navy game bet

One Republican senator exercised sartorial rights over another on Monday.

Republican Sens. Scott Brown (Mass.) and Mark Kirk (Ill.) made a friendly wager on Saturday’s Army-Navy football game via Twitter on Thursday.

Brown suggested the loser should wear the other branch’s shirt during a caucus lunch. The Navy won over the Army team 27-21, so Brown will soon be wearing their team’s blue and gold jersey.

{mosads}Kirk reminded Brown of the win on Monday: "Hey @USSenScottBrown - #ArmyNavy game bet means you will soon be wearing blue and gold when Navy beats Army, again. Like the last 9 times,” he tweeted.

Brown handled the loss in a tweeted response: “I’ll soon be wearing the blue/gold @SenatorKirk. Congratulations to the Cadets and Midshipmen on a great game.” He added in a hashtag that he is “still army strong.”

Kirk’s staff later tweeted a follow-up asking what size Navy Jersey they should send over to Brown’s office.
