postheadericon GOP congressman suggests Rep. Frank decision linked to Dow up 300 points

Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.) suggested Monday that Rep. Barney Frank's (D-Mass.) decision to not seek reelection caused an upswing in the markets.

"Today Rep. Barney Frank announced he will not run for re-election & the Dow is up by almost 300 points. Coincidence?," Walsh tweeted.

On Monday, Frank's office announced that the Massachusetts congressman would not seek reelection.
