postheadericon Google flack tweets her vision of the Internet if piracy bill passes

Some technology companies, including Google, do not like the Stop Online Piracy Act and see a severely limited Internet if it passes.

Google’s global communications and public affairs employee Sam Smith tweeted what her company's search results might look like: “Google in 2012 if #SOPA passes - goo.gl/80WqG”

The link shows a screen shot of a Google search with 2.25 billion results and all but one filtered. Below the result numbers it depicts Sony’s website and then four non-results.

“In response to a complaint we received under the Stop Online Piracy Act, we have removed 1 result(s) from this page. If you wish you may read the SOPA complaint that caused the removal(s)! of this page,” the page reads.

The House Judiciary Committee is set to vote on the Stop Online Piracy Act Thursday.
