A Gingrich campaign stop in Iowa City was disrupted today by Occupy Wall Street protesters who accused the former House Speaker of arrogance towards the poor.

The protesters utilized a "mic check" chant - in which a group amplifies its message by shouting in chorus - to deride Gingrich's suggestion that poor children should be hired as janitors at their school to provide money and teach a work ethic.

Gingrich at first did not appear to understand what was happening, asking "What's wrong?" according to the Wall Street Journal. Other presidential candidates have been the subject of similar protests, including President Barack Obama and Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann.
