The Democratic National Committee promoted a new Twitter feed Tuesday designed specifically to quote Republicans.

New Twitter feed @GOPsayWhat takes on the Republican candidates for the 2012 presidential nomination, including Rep. Michele Bachmann (Minn.) and former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty.

“How often do you hear a Republican presidential candidate say something that caused you to scratch your head?” asks a blog post on the DNC website. “Now you don’t have to suffer alone.”

Tweets quickly turned to other Republicans for quotes, such as Rep. John Mica (Fla.), who, as House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee chairman, has been in the news due to last week's Federal Aviation Administration partial shutdown.

The feed is designed to compile “the most extreme, out-of-touch, did-they-really-say-that Republican ! quotes & positions for your retweeting pleasure,” according to the profile.

The account began tweeting Aug. 4, but the DNC didn’t start promoting it until Tuesday.

Brad Woodhouse, the DNC communications director, sent an email to supporters asking them to follow the feed, and also tweeted a recommendation to check it out using the hashtag #crazythingsrepublicanssay.
