Energy tax policy â ethanol meets the challenge while big oil continues to resist

A handshake and a person’s word still mean something today. As a member of America’s ethanol industry, I am proud to say that this industry and its advocates have kept their word when it comes to offering smart, progressive changes to current ethanol policy.
Last December, Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley, members of the White House staff, and other Senate leaders agreed on and ultimately passed a one year extension of the ethanol tax incentive, known as VEETC. The extension was predicated on the ethanol industry and its Congressional champions developing a responsible alternative for ethanol tax policy moving forward.Â
