Rep. Michele Bachmann said Tuesday she might announce sooner than June whether she’ll jump into the 2012 presidential race.

"We had announced earlier that we would be looking at a June entry date for a decision one way or another about this race. Possibly we may move that up," Bachmann (R-Minn.) told Fox News. "We are talking to a number of people. Things are in the works, so we will let you know.”



She had given a June deadline for deciding on setting up an exploratory committee.


“We are at the point where we are coming much, much closer to that decision,” she said. 



Bachmann's comments come the same day her April fundraising numbers were released by the Federal Election Commission (FEC); the report shows she raised $17! 3,000 last month.
 
Bachmann pulled in a hefty $2.2 million in the first quarter.
