postheadericon McCain, Tapper do 'Twitterview'

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) sat down for a so-called "Twitterview" with ABC News's Jake Tapper Thursday morning, where they discussed a variety of issues on Capitol Hill.

The duo went over the omnibus spending package, the pending tax-cut deal, the stalled nuclear arms reduction treaty with Russia and the war in Afghanistan.

McCain previously did a "Twitterview" with ABC's George Stephanopoulos in June 2009.

Perhaps the most colorful exchange came when Tapper (@jaketapper) asked ! McCain (@SenJohnMcCain) -- a long-time opponent of earmarks -- about pork-barrel spending in the omnibus bill:

TAPPER: so @SenJohnMcCain  the q for President Obama is: would vetoing the omnibus spending bill put the tax deal at risk? would it?

TAPPER: .@SenJohnMcCain  many of your GOP colleagues have pork in the bill as well. In the immortal words of SNL's Deandre Cole, what up with that?

MCCAIN: Absolutely not. There is no connection between the two. The fact is that he doesn't want to alienate the Senate "old bulls"

MCCAIN & now they r going 2 oppose the bill; glad they r finally on the road 2 Damascus-in the words of SNL's Church lady "well isn't that special"

The video is of, you guessed it, the "church lady's" famous catchphrase.
