postheadericon Levin: Vote 'looks good' for ending 'Don't ask, don't tell'

Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin (D-Mich.) expressed confidence Saturday that Congress is on the cusp of ending the "Don't ask, don't tell" policy that bars gays from serving openly in the military.

"It looks good," he said in the Capitol of the measure, which will require 60 votes to break a filibuster.

The Senate will vote Saturday on whether to end debate and advance the measure -- which has already cleared the House -- toward a final passage.
