President Obama's debt commission delivers its final report Friday and the debate is officially out of the closet of generalities and vague assumptions where it has dwelled through Republican and Democratic administrations and majorities alike. No, the commission doesn't even expect to be able to pass its own recommendations, which means Congress never has to act on them. But the battle against denial, inertia, demagoguery and partisan posturing must be joined. People in both parties must hold hands and jump together, or we are all in deep trouble.
