Congress is playing chicken with a fragile U.S. recovery

This lame-duck Congress will go down in history as the worst in recent memory.
Most economists, regardless of political viewpoint, agree that now is not the time to delay the extension of the Bush tax cuts. Instead of initiating a bill that would extend the tax cuts over the next two or three years, Congress is engaged in political posturing.
