postheadericon Man pleads guilty to threatening Cantor

A 38-year-old man pleaded guilty Tuesday to threatening House GOP Whip Eric Cantor (Va.) during the height of the healthcare debate.

Norman LeBoon of Philadelphia made his plea in federal court, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer, after being charged in October for making the threat against Cantor and his family in March.

{mosads}LeBoon's plea is one of a series of convictions of individuals who threatened lawmakers in both political parties during the charged debate over! healthcare reform legislation. 

The Philadelphia resident pleaded guilty to threatening an official of the United States and other related crimes. He is due to be sentenced on Feb. 3. He faces up to 15 years in prison.

Investigators said LeBoon posted a YouTube video online in March in which he threatened to injure or kill Cantor, the second-ranking House Republican and the next House majority leader.

"Remember, Eric ... our judgment time, the final Yom Kippur has been given," he said in the video. "You are a liar, you're a Lucifer, you're a pig, a greedy f------ pig, you're an abomination, you receive my bullets in your office, remember they will be placed in your heads. You and your children are Lucifer's abominations."

LeBoon was arrested in March but decl ared unfit for trial by a federal judge in April. He was ordered to undergo four months of psychiatric treatment and is still under federal custody.
