postheadericon Biden: 'We could have prioritized things in a different way'

The Obama administration could have organized its priorities in a different manner during its first two years, Vice President Biden said Friday.

Biden said the administration had made "mistakes" in its first two years, leading to the electoral drubbing Democrats received at the polls on Nov. 2. But the vice president said that the administration was committed to learning from the election.

"We made mistakes. We could have done things differently," Biden said MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Friday. "We could have prioritized things in a different way."

"What we have to do now is learn from those lessons, and move forward," the vice president added.

The administration has faced criticism even from some Democrats, who questioned whether or not it was prudent for the White House to insist as heavily as it did on agenda items like cap-and-trade in the House, and healthcare reform. The administration, its critics argue, should have been mor! e focused on jobs and the economy.

Biden defended the administration's record in the election, though, blaming the high jobless numbers in certain districts for Democrats' losses.

"It's awful hard to win in a district when you've got that kind of unemployment," he said.

The vice president said that the administration's "top goal" would be job creation and economic growth going forward.
